Dunkirk stands out as the largest European city offering completely free local public transport through the operator DK'Bus.
Our journey with Dunkirk began when we implemented an AVL system (known as SAIEV in French) for 54 vehicles. Since then, our solution has grown to manage and monitor over 200 vehicles operating in France's northernmost city.
As Thetis IT, we've continuously evolved the system, introducing new modules and functions that build upon its core vehicle status monitoring and activity management capabilities. A standout feature is our passenger counting system, which incorporates advanced statistical sensors, achieving remarkable accuracy levels exceeding 98% in all lighting conditions.
Today, our system boasts advanced modular software with an intuitive web interface. This empowers control center operators to monitor vehicle status (including real-time crowding levels), manage and modify driver activities, communicate with vehicles in service, generate certified reports, and much more.
We've designed the on-board system to include a device that seamlessly interfaces with the vehicle, managing internal multimedia TFT screens for passenger information and audio messages. Drivers can efficiently manage ongoing activities and communicate with the control center via our dedicated app.
To further enhance the system's capabilities, we introduced a sophisticated traffic light priority system for vehicles equipped with Thetis IT devices, optimizing traffic flow and improving service efficiency.
