Integrated ITS, AVL and Contract management system for real-time monitoring of public transport in Rome, Italy
The first Fleet-as-a-Service project in Italy in partnership with E-GAP: 250 electric vehicles and charging infrastructure provided at zero initial cost for the agency.
The project was launched in Rome, where the municipality has initiated a significant energy transition plan for the fleet dedicated to public transport services, this involves the deployment of more than 250 electric buses that will cover over 100 million kilometers, serving two strategic areas of the Eternal City: East Rome and West Rome.
Thetis IT has implemented its control room software, a state-of-the-art operational center managed in the cloud. The Thetis Platform is a modular end-to-end, software and hardware system for real-time management and monitoring of public transport fleets. In addition to the Thetis platform, Thetis IT has also implemented an integrated ITS solutions system for surveillance, monitoring, and onboard intelligence, enabling communication to and from the control room.
Operators of the suburban routes in Rome use the Thetis Platform for AVL functions and also to measure the contract performance KPIs, thereby calculating the euro-kilometer due by the authority, which recovers the investment in the fleet and charging infrastructure under the Fleet-as-a-Service model.
